RECESS CONCLUDED The Gisborne Amateur Operatic Society officially came out of recess on Tuesday when an annual meeting was held for the first time since before the war. In the absence of the acting secretary. Mr. C. V. Harre, the chair was taken by Mr. A. J. Nicol. Business was brief, the election of a committee being the main business before the meeting. The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr. C. V. Harre: president. Tdr. W. C. Kohn: vice-president, Mr. W. J. Sinclair: secretary-treasurer, Mr. D. G. Dyer; committee, Messrs. E. Caughey, W. B. Keany, H. C. Gregory, Hickman, P. Corbett, Misses A. Crossland, E. Courtney, and L. Bimbler; hon. auditor. Mr. Rees Allan. Votes of thanks to the chair and to Mr. H. F. Wise for the use of his musicroom were unanimously carried.
