Marking the first occasion on which athletes of their race had taken part in organised sport in the city, eleven Chinese made an impressive start in ibis season’s Association Football competitions in Dunedin. They adopted the • dub name Eastern and entered the junior grade, in which they won their first match with case, defeating Caversham by eight goals to one. MAN EATS FIRE!
