£IO,OOO LOTTERY PRIZE

CHRISTCHURCH WINNER (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH. April 29. A Christchurch resident has won the first prize of £IO,OOO in an Australian lottery drawn on April 22, the result of which was received yesterday. The holder of the winning ticket is a waterside worker who lives in Linwood. The ticket was bought from a Lyttelton tobacconist. The name of the prize-winner has not been disclosed. The ticket is in the name of “Camping Syndicate” and it is thought that the syndicate consists of the family. The prize has not yet been claimed, but yesterday the wife of the holder of the ticket called at the tobacconist's shop with the ticket to find out how to go about claiming the prize. This particular lottery has now been won three times in succession by New Zealand ticket-holders. One drawn on April 8 was won by a Wellington resident with the sixth and eighth prizes going to Auckland. The next consultation was won by two joint ticketholders in Dunedin.
