PORK AT WESTFIELD WETHER MUTTON DEARER (P.A.) AUCKLAND, April 29. A large yarding of pork offered at the Westlield slock sale yesterday sold readily at higher prices than usual. Bacon also remained at firm rates. The quality of the stores was good and these found a ready market at the latest values. Beef was penned in average numbers. There was a steady demand, with little or no alteration in prices. Fewer sheep than usual came forward, but there was a keen demand for those offered and values for prime wethers were up from 3s to 4s a head. Prime ewes sold at late rates. Lambs sold readily, and prices for _ prime lambs were very firm. Unfinished and plain were dull of sale. A good yarding of calves also met with a steady demand.
