PLEA FOR COMPULSION S.A. VETERANS’ MOVE (P.A.) TIMARU, April 23. Armed with a mandate' from the Dominion conference of the association held at Dunedin in February, a deputation from the South African War Veterans’ Association of New Zealand will meet the Minister of Defence Mr. F." Jones, in Wellington on Monday to urge the Government to reintroduce compulsory military training throughout the Dominion as a safeguard against a possible international crisis. The members of the deputation will be the president. Mr. E. J. Harvey, of Blenheim, Major W. Wood, Wellington. Mr. C. H. Ritzema. Upper Hutt, and the secretray, Mr. W. H. Hayman, of Timaru.
