The run-in of i| miles commenced at the coiner of Huxley and Tyndall mails, all members running from the same mark. The pacemaker, the Hub vice-captain, Peter Pollard, won from o'Kane by 7.7yds. Fifty yards behind in a keen struggle for third place, Miller defeated L. Hawkins by a few yards. Pollard, who secured a handy lead early in the race, looked like winning all the way. Other prominent runners were the juniors. .1 Jennings and G. McDonald, who tied for fifth place. Next week a similar run-in will be held. The results of both events will be a guide in allotting margins for the annual sealed handicap event
