SOUTH AFRICAN PROPOSAL (10 a.m.) CAPE TOWN, April 19. The Federated Chamber of Industries has suggested that the Government give Britain 6,000,000 worth of gold yearly under a miniature “South African Marshall Plan,” The sum of £6,000,000 is the amount that the South African industries are losing as a result of trade restrictions imposed by the British colonies in Africa and the Chamber of Industries suggests that the gold be paid in return for an assurance of continued export markets in Africa.
