500 PERSONS MISSING

SUNKEN SHIP PASSENGERS LANDED IN RED AREA (10 a.m.) SHANGHAI, April 15. Mystery shrouds the fate of more than 500 passengers of the steamer Wan Lee who landed in the Communist area on the Shantung coast after their vessel ran aground and sank on Monday. The passengers included 13 foreigners. Relatives packed the offices of the Fooming Shipping Company, the ship's owners, yesterday shouting and crying as they demanded more information and immediate steps to rescue the passengers.
