CONFISCATED CARGO

AFRICAN FREIGHT FREED Air cargo from South Africa, which was confiscated in January while passing through India and Pakistan under an order issued by the customs authorities there, has now been delivered to the consignees, according to advice received by Tasman Empire Airways, Limited. : The message did not state, however, whether or not the restrictions had been withdrawn.

Several consignments on their way to New Zealand from South Africa were among those affected when the order was first applied. The goods included shoes, cotton, clothing, cigars, dried fruit and wool.
