N.S.W. POLICE MOVE

JOIN LABOUR COUNCIL MARGIN OF ONE VOTE (10 a.m.) SYDNEY, April 15. The New South Wales Police Association, at a conference yesterday de cided, by 22 votes to 21, to seek affiliation with the Trades and Labour Council. The decision was reached - after a nine-hour debate. Speakers against the motion claimed that, as members of the Labour Council, the police would be forced into strikes and influenced in carrying out their duties. Opponents said that affiliation would split the force from top to bottom.
