FEMALE OFFERING FAIR AT MATAWHERO MARKET FOR BUYERS Female cattle offered yesterday at the final dav of the cattle fair at the Matawhero saleyards found a better demand than the steers on the first day. However, despite the improved tone, the rates were cheaper than those paid last month. There was no comparison offering for the cows with calves recently weaned Good f. and f, cows maintained their values, in-calf cows were not sought as keenly, two and a-l'.nlf year heifers were down by !0s to 15s, and 13-month heifers by 20s to 255. Competing with local buyers were agents from Whakatane and Tc Puke, the Waikato, and to a limited extent Wairoa and Waipukurau.
