LORD LISTOWEL’S VIEW

HONG KONG PRECAUTIONS (10 a.m.) HONG KONG, March 22. “I don’t think a third world war is in the least probable,” said Lord Listowel. Minister of State for Colonial Affairs, at a press conference today when a questioner recalled Hong Kong’s unpreparedness at the beginning of the Second World War.

Lord Listowel said that Hong Kong should not start living as though another war was about to break out, but added that all reasonable precautions should be taken by sensible people.
