SCHOOLS IN AUCKLAND

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, March 17. “The number of cases of poliomyelitis stiil occurring in the Auckland district suggests that it may not be possible to reopen schools in the area for some weeks,” said the Minister of Education, Mr. T. H. McCombs. “What is be done after Easter depends on the progress of the epidemic and will have to be decided from time to time. The decision on when the schools may reopen rests with the Minister of Health and adequate notice of the reopening dates will be given.”
