MURDER OF INTERNEES

WAR CRIMES IN ISLANDS (10 am.) HONG KONG, March 16. The first Japanese war criminal sentenced to death by the Australian war crimes court at Hong Kong was hanged at Stanley gaol today. He was RearAdmiral Tamuri Ryakichi. who was found guilty on December 17 c- complicity in murder by jujitsu and strangulation of 23 Australian civil internees at Kavieng, New Ireland, in March, 1944.
