MR- H. W. BUNDLE, S.M., of Dunedin, has been appointed judge of Assessment Courts for the Dunedin City and Green Island Borough, according to a Gazette notice last night. SIR JOHN FALCONER, until recently Lord Provost of Edinburgh and the 175 th occupant of an office that can be traced to 1275,-arrived at Wellington yesterday en route to Dunedin to represent Edinburgh at the centennial celebrations The holder of the office of Lord Provost, Sir John Falconer said, had the unique privilege of being Lord High Admiral of the Firth of Forth. The last occasion on which Sir Jonn can recall it being exercised by a Lord Provost was when the German Fleet surrendered in Scottish waters following the First World War. The Lord Provost, in his “naval capacity was one of the official party who witnessed that historic event. Sir John will be the guest of the New Zealand Government and the City of Dunedin.
