MR. N. 11. BULL, the Mayor, presided over Messrs. G. J. Jeune. I. J. Quiglev, R. Morse, W. C. Kohn, J. 11. Halt, G. D. Muirhead, F. Tolerton and 11. F. Wise at Tuesday night’s meeting of the Gisborne Borough Council. MR- 11. L. CRANSWICK, of the Australian Mutual Provident Society, Sydney, general superintendent of agencies, accompanied by Mr. H. S. Beaumont, Wellington, branch superintendent of agencies, were recent visitors to Gisborne.
MAJOR 11. A. BOYS, 0.8. E., arrives at Gisborne today to spend a holiday with his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. 11. C. Boys, Motu. Cotton growing in Egypt has occupied most of Major Boys’ lifetime, while he also served in both the First and Second World Wars. Major Boys arrived at Auckland on Tuesday from England, this being his first visit to New Zealand, and the first time he lias seen his brother for 30 years.
