CITY FIRE INQUIRY

PLANS OF COMMISSION (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 16. The main sitting of the Royal. Commission to' inquire into the circumstances of Ballantynes’ Christchurch fire will probably begin on January 26 after the legal holidays have concluded, said the chairman of the commission, Sir Harold Johnston.

He said that the commission would meet for the first time tomorrow at 10 a.m., but the sitting would last only tomorrow or possibly until Thursday.
