The Hawke’s Bay Education Board has been asked by the New Zealand Labour Party to give consideration to the amending of its by-law prohibiting the use of schools for meetings except during Parliamentary elections. It was suggested that steps might be taken to make school buildings available for use during local body election campaigns. The deputy-chairman, Mr. W. Cuthbertson, pointed out that the board had no jurisdiction in the matter, and it was decided to advise the writers to consult tiie member, for the electorate.
