14 JEWS KILLED

ARAB LEGION REPRISAL BOMBS THROWN AT CAMP LONDON, Dec. 14. Infantrymen of King Abdullah’s Transjordan Arab Legion, which is under British officers, killed 14 Jews and wounded at least 10 others in an attack at Beit Mabala, east of Lydda, on a Jewish truck which Jewish settlement police were escorting. The legionaires told the authorities later that they attacked in retaliation for the Jews having thrown grenades into their camp. The Government spokesman said there was no doubt that the Jewish escort threw grenades at the Arabs before the legionaires fired. The Jews apparently lost their heads.
