Notifiable Diseases
For the week ended at noon yesterday five cases of notiable diseases, one of scarlet fever, one of diphtheria, and three of pulmonary tuberculosis, were reported in the East Cape health district. One death was reported from pulmonary tuberculosis.
National Savings Each of the 11 main post offices in the Gisborne postal district achieved their quota of national savings deposits last week, the total amount invested being £3103. Of this amount £2882 was deposited at the chief post office, Gisborne, while in the district, Tolaga Bay did the best with £lO7 in deposits.
