PLANE FLIES TO CHATHAMS (P.A ) WELLINGTON, Dec. 12. A Catalina flying-boat which left Wellington for the Chatham Islands on a mercy mission yesterday morning touched down at Te Whanga Lagoon, in the centre of the Chathams, at 11.26 a.m. The aircraft took off again at 1.20 p.m. and landed at Evans Bay at 4.47 p.m. On board was a very ill little girl name Prendiville, accompanied by her father and a nurse. They left for Christchurch on last night’s steamer-express. Other passengers were four Public Works employees and four Chatham Islanders Flying conditions were described as perfect both ways ,
