TO BE DISARMED

FREE SIAMESE ARMY BANGKOK, Nov. 23. The Premier, Mr. Khuang Aphaiwong, said today that. one of his first tasks would be to disarm the Free Siamese Army organised and led by Britain and the United States during the war to fight the Japanese. Mr. Aphaiwong, apologising for keeping Mr. Phibun Songgram in the Government, said he knew the world was prejudiced against Mr. Songgram for serving as a puppet Premier under the Japanese, but he declared that Siam now needed Mr. Songgram’s strength for internal safety. Mr. Songgram would be given the task of disarming the Free Siamese Army. Later he would be demoted from his present position of supreme commander of all the armed forces to that of an army commander only.
