BOY MURDERER GUILTY
FIVE YEARS' DETENTION
LONDON, Nov. 7. The Chester Assizes sentenced Ronald Anthony Thomas, aged nine, to detention for a period not exceeding five years after the defending counsel had pleaded not guilty to murder, but guilty of manslaughter, of a babygirl whose body was found in a pit at Hoylake. Thomas, when questioned after the baby was found, said he took the pram from outside a shop and threw the baby in water “because I just wanted to do it.” .
