OFFER BY RUSSIA
WHEAT FOR FRANCE
"BELOW EXPECTATIONS” LONDON, Nov. 6. Russia, with whom France has been negotiating for over a month for the purchase of wheat, has now informed the French Government that it can offer only 200,000 tons of wheat and 100,000 tons of secondary cereals, with deliveries to be spaced over the first seven months of 1948. The ' Paris correspondent of The Times, reporting this, adds that the offer is much below French expectations and will supply bread for France for only one month at tlfe present ration.
