ELECTION DURING STRIKE (11 a.m.) PARIS. Oct. 19
With the transDort strike in Paris in its sixth dav and the Government's emergency transport entirely suspended for lack of Detrol. millions of Parisians walked or cycled . through the quiet streets to elect 90 municipal councillors. M. Auriol and his wife walked from the Elysee palace to vote. M. Ramadier voted in his home town, de Cazevllle, which is one of .88.900 cities and towns where municipal elections were held today.
The nre-election campaign was fought Drincioallv on national and international issues. Many electors voted on strictly Communist and antiCommunist and also on an America-versus-Russia basis. Bus and underground workers decided to continue the strike until the wage claims are satisfied. The Transport Ministry announced that because of the petrol shortage no emergency transport would run In Paris tomorrow to replace buses and trains.
