ATOM BOMB OUTPUT
BRITISH STOCKS URGED SCIENTIST’S ADVICE (10 a.m.) LONDON, Oct. 19. “It is idle to pretend that there is a good chance in the near future of obtaining international control of atomic energy, said the president of the Atomic Scientists’ Association, Professor N. F. Mott, in an article. When Britain produced plutonium in significant quantities, it could be stored underground' for use in bombs or for producing power. One argument for the accumulation of atomic bombs was that it would strengthen Britain’s foreign policyBritain, if she did not have the bomb, renounced her position as a great Power.
