N.Z. Romneys Praised

“The presence of two types of Romney Marsh sheep—English and New Zealand—was apparent in an excellent showing of the breed," states a report on the recent Australian Sheep Breeders Show in Melbourne. There were 66 entries and the judge, Mr. R. H. Blackburn, Fairview Park, Koriella, considered the exhibits were the best he had handled at any show. Both the English and New Zealand types received awards for the judge placed as champion ram a typical New Zealand sheep, whereas the reserve champion ram and also the champion ewe were English type. The report indicates that the latter had considerably stronger fleeces than our sheep.
