F ACTOR Y_P AY-OUT TOTAL UPTO £72,500 SUPPLIERS’ BIG CHEQUES Dairy farmers supplying six companies from the East Cape to Wairoa will draw the largest cheques in the history of the industry in the pay-out made today, the total farm cheque amounting to £GO,49f„ The general trading accounts to be met by those companies for the month add a further £12,000, to make their complete pay-out about £72,500. ■ The cheques will include the retrospective payments of 1.716 d per lb. butterfat for the period November 1, 1946, to July 31, 1947, in all but one case the price adjustment decided upon by company directorates for August, 1947, and the September pay-out on scales ranging from Is 9d to Is lid. The companies covered in the survey were the Ngatiporou Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, Tolaga Bay Cooperative Dairy Company. Limited, Kia Ora Co-operative Dairying Company, Limited, Okitu Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, Nuhaka Dairy Company Limited, and Wairoa Co-opera-tive Dairy Company, Limited. The total pay-out figures are: November-July Retrospective Payment.—Ngatiporou, £3617; Tolaga Bay, £2044; Kia Ora, £9325; Okitu, £1830; Nuhaka, £824; Wairoa, £4972; total, £22,612. August Retrospective Payment.— Ngatiporou, adjustment to be made at end of season; Tolaga Bay, £103; Kia Ora, £1431: Okitu, £215; Nuhaka, £246; Wairoa, £724; total, £2719. September Pay-out. Ngatiporou, £4000; Tolaga Bay, £2762; Kia Ora, £16,385; Okitu, £2800; Nuhaka, £1170; Wairoa, '£8048; total, £35,165.
