Mr D. L. Gordon has been appointed deputy registrar of births and deaths of Maoris at Te Karaka. At yesterday’s meeting of the Gisborne Harbour Board the secretary, Mr E. A Khull, was appointed returning officer to conduct the payers of dues election. . , .. , The chairman, Mr A. J. Nicol, presided at yesterday’s meeting of the Gisborne Harbour Board. Other members present were Messrs. I. J. Quigley, M. J. White, L. Miles, A. A. Fraser, R. D. Dymock, C. Mills, W. R. Clarke J. E. Benson, C. H. Williams, W. T. Veitch, and A. B. C. Steele.
