NEW LIMIT GAZETTED (P a ) WELLINGTON, Sept. 30. As an aid-to-Britain measure an order prohibiting the lulling of lambs with a dressed weight not exceeding 301 b for New Zealand consumption was gazetted yesterday.. The order, which is known as the slaughter of lambs’ control order, 194 1 prohibits the sale purchase for slaughter for human consumption in New Zealand or the slaughter for such purpose of lambs of not more than 301 b dressed weight. The prohibition will apply in the North Island unti November 3 and in the South Island until November 24. ... , Commenting on the order the Mini ster of Agriculture, Mr E. L. Cullen, said the idea had Ipn recommended to the Government by the Aid-to-Bri-tain Council. The council’s recommendation was intended to apply only to lambs slaughtered for human consumption in New Zealand and the gazetted order would, therefore, not apply to the killing oflambs for export.
