85,000 GERMANS FREED DECISION BY FRANCE PARIS. Sept. 25. The French Ministry of Labour announced that 85.00 D German prisoners of war would be freed to. become mining and agricultural labourers. A hundred thousand of the 444.770 prisoners in France accepted an offer of freedom but 15.000 were rejected because of technical reasons and their records as Nazis. France is endeavouring to import 300,000 foreign labourers from neighbouring countries such as Italy.
