£2200 THEFT REPORTED

SAFE TAKEN FROM HOUSE (P.A.) AUCKLAND, Sept. 5. The theft of a safe containing diamond rings, banknotes,, cash, war bonds and other papers, valued at £2200, has been reported to the police by Mr. T. R. Radich, of 157 Remuera road. Mr- Radich stated that the theft occurred between 6.15 and 9 o’clock on Wednesday night while his home was unoccupied. It is believed that the thieves entered through the front door as it is stated there were no marks showing that force had been used on the windows or doors. The safe, which weighed 3cwt., was dragged out the front door and along the verandah, damaging portion of it.
