Ngatapa Club’s Gifts

In a letter read at Wednesday night's meeting of the executive of the Gisborne Returned Services’ Association, the secretary of the Ngatapa Social Club, Miss Joan C. Rivers, forwarded a cheque for £lO Gs Gd as a contribution to the R.S.A. fund for dispatching food parcels to ex-servicemen’s families in Britain. The letter explained that the club had conducted functions to welcome home returning servicemen of the Ngatapa area, and to provide funds for a war memorial tablet, and that after provision had been made for these purposes a surplus of £2O 13s had remained. It had been decided to divide this sum equally between the R.S.A. food-for-Britain fund and the Heni Materoa Children’s Homo campaign fund. The donation was acknowledged with appreciation by the executive.
