Sculling Trophy Replaced
A trophy presented m the earls twenties by M>\ George Neill, formerly oL Tolaga Bay, to; intei-club sculling competition nas :-<-en retired in accordance with the nut-:, o' competition and awarded to the f B Rowing Club, whose representatives' have won 18 out of 19 annual points contests, for the shield This decision was taken at a meeting of the East Coast Rowing Association executive held on Sunday, with Mr. A Kirk in the chair. As a sequel to the retirement of the Neill Shield the executive received an offer from Mr. and Mrs. M. Varley to donate another sculling shield, to be competed for under the Neill Shield con ditions, and to Ue known as the Wayne Varlev Memorial Shield. The offer was accepted with keen satisfaction, and Mr. and Mrs. Varley were tendered the warm thanks of the association.
