HIGH PRICE FOR FILLY

MAHARAJAH’S PURCHASE (P.A.) AUCKLAND, July 4. The Maharajah of Kashmir has bought the rising three-year-old filly Ladyship, owned by Sir James Fletcher and Mr. J. C. Fletcher, for 5000 guineas, which is believed to be the highest price paid for a filly or mare in training in this country. Ladyship, which was by the champion sire Foxbridge from Foreign Queen, will continue to race in New Zealand for some time. She will be trained at Trentham by Mr. W. Bryce.
