BASELESS RUMOUR

PETROL RATIONING MINISTER’S ASSURANCE (P.A.) WELLINGTON, May 1. Reports circulating in Wellington yesterday that petrol rationing was to be re-introduced as from this morning were denied by the acting-Minister of Supply, Mr. A. H. Nordmeyer, when they were referred to him last evening. “There is no foundation for the rumour that the Government contemplates the introduction of petrol rationing in the near future,” he said.
