MOSCOW CONFERENCE
Sir.—The most important conference o e all time has concluded and with all due respect for both Mr Bevin’s and Mr Marshall’s opinions of the possibility of some agreement in the future, we should all know that it has been a colossal failure. And now what? Politicions, economists, financers, professors and business men are wondering what is in store for us. Only two organisations are standing up—scientists who are making and perfecting more diabolical methods of destruction and the clergymen, who still appeal to us in their best theological manner. With all their platitudes the clergymen and their message are the only remaining hope for civilisation. Trie breakdown at Moscow has thrown the gauntlet down. It is either Christ or communism. To every man and woman, employer or employee, this is a pei - sonal ’challenge. We will never have r ,rother chance. It is either applied militant Christianity that means love and sacrifice or militant communism that means force. These are cold facts. E. GILMORE
