MATAWAI FAREWELL
POPULAR OFFICIAL . (Herald Correspondent.) A farewell afternoon was tendered to Miss Margaret E. H. Smith who recently relinquished her position at the Matawai Post Office where, associated with Mr. J. W. Smith and Miss J. Robb, she lias been engaged during the last five years. Miss Smith recently joined the general staff and has beer, relieving at Waimana. She left this week to take up a position in Whakatane. S. Gibson presided at the farewell. The gathering included visitors from Koranga. Mrs. Gibson arranged many interesting competitions round the room assisted by Mrs. G. F. Mortlejnan. A dainty afternoon ten was served. Miss Smith, was presented with a crystal powder bowl Those present includes Mesdames C. V. Smith. R. C. Mortleman, F. McPike. A. Marshall, T. Porter, F. Thomas. P. Jacobs. A. E. Gibson, ,T. Higgins and Miss M. Higgins. Mrs. ,J. Mcßae, Bulst. E. Judd. Mrs. and Miss Clayton-Greene, Mrs. and Miss Robb.
