COLONIAL SUGAR COMPANY (P A ) WELLINGTON. April 24. A resumption of work by sugar workers at the Colonial Sugar Refining Company's Chelsea works as from midnight last night was announced by the Minister of Labour. Mr. A. McLagan. Tile Minister has appointed a tribunal under the strikes and lock outs emergency regulations to deal with the dispute. A report from .Auckland published vesterday stated that at a slop-work meeting on Tuesday members of the Sugar Workers’ Union at the works decided to strike until a fellow Maori worker dismissed that morning was reinstated.
