CONFERENCE OPENS
SHIPPING OFFICERS RESIGNATIONS DISCUSSED (P.A.) WELLINGTON. April 24 The situation which has arisen over the recent resignations of masters and officers of ships on New Zealand articles was discussed at length at a con fcrence yesterday of representatives of the four main groups of maritime workers which had been called by the Minister of Labour. Mr A. McLagen. The conference was held at Parliament Buildings and was attended by '.'.7 delega'cs representing the Merchant Serv'c* Gri'd. the Marine Engineers’ Trst’tute. the Seamen’* Union and |he Cooks and Stewards' Uninn.
