WHAKATANE PAPER MILL RESUMPTION ON SUNDAY (P.A.) AUCKLAND, April 23. Following a visit by Mr. C. L. Hunter, Conciliation Commissioner, an agreement was reached yesterday morning between representatives of the parties to the dispute at the Whakatane paper mills. The terms of the agreement are to be confirmed at a meeting of the employees to-day. Because of the Anzac Day holiday on Friday and the need to raise steam and dry out large electric motors, it is not expected that production will be recommenced before Sunday. Approximately two weeks’ production has been lost as a result of the dispute, this being equal to about COO tons of cardboard.
