“TWO KINDS OF STRIKES”
Sir, —You recently published a letter by “Robin Hood,” Why he picked that nom-de-plume I don’t know. Strikes are of two kinds. Those by fanners and ships’ captains and officers are smiled upon by certain sections of the community. Others, such as by miners and plaster workers, etc., are frowned upon. Holding up wheat supplies in a hungry world is surely a greater sin than not getting holiday-makers away on a jaunt at Easter. To eliminate the cause of strikes one needs to eliminate big business. That will never be done here, as there is too much outside capital involved. RETURNED KIWI, 2nd N.Z. Div.
