IRISH 100-1 UNKNOWN WINS GRAND NATIONAL. —In driving rain Caughoo 100-1 Irish unknown ridden by E. Dempsey and owned by a 37-year-old Dublin jeweller, Mr J. J. McDowell, clears the last fence to win the Grand National Steeplechase by 20 lengths at Aintree, Liverpool, England, on March 29. Another Irish horse Lough Conn was second, with the ex-French horse Kami third and the 8-] favourite Prince Regent fourth. Of the 57 horses assembled at the starling gale only 17 finished the course.
