Miss Newall was in Gisborne for a few days early in the week and told the Herald that she was thoroughly enjoying her holiday in New Zealand, - which commenced last November, when 2 she left her home in Salisbury for Cape 1 Town, a trip which took three days, and - then boarded the Dominion Monarch for • the 18-day trip to New Zealand, s 1 Miss Newall, who is softly spoken, s with a pretty blur about her voice, is - thoroughly enjoying her trip and 1 came to New Zealand "because you f have everything here—lakes, mountains, 1 scenery, all in a small area.” She has i been surprised at the friendliness of the people and says she never expected to meet such kindness. She feels “quite at; home” in Gisborne and thinks it a very pretty place. - A typist in the Civil Service in . Southern Rhodesia, Miss Newall’s only i regret about her trip is that a vacancy for her on a ship for New Zealand came ; at the time when the Royal Family's . visit to South Africa was due.
