BOUGHT FOR £IOB
MAORI KIWI CLOAK (P.A.) WELLINGTON, April 22. An oaliu kiwi, or Maori kiwi cloak, once a prized ardornment of Maori' nobility, was auctioned in Wellington to-day and purchased for £IOB by the French Minister, M. Armand Gazel. Keen competition quickly increased the bids from the starting price of £SO. M. Gazel said he admired the workmanship in the cloak and thought it would make an excellent beginning to the Maori collection he hoped to make while in New Zealand.
