.USE OF JET-TURBINES BRITISH EXPERIMENT MEETING PEAK LOADS (11 a.m.) LONDON, April 22. The Central Electricity Board, in its annual report to the Minister of Fuel, Mr. E. Shinwell, says it intends trying to avoid disastrous cuts by boosting the peak* load output with jet turbines developed from the aircraft type. The board says these developments promise to be an important contribution [ to tbe problem of providing an efficient, J * economical and flexible plan to deal 111 with short-period peak loads. V" The board hopes to install soon one !- 3 -'br more machines of this type of 15,000 kilowatts capacity.
