LEVEL-CROSSING SMASH

TRUCK DRIVER INJURED (P.A.) PALMERSTON N. Jan. 30. When the truck he was driving was struck by the northbound WellingtonNapier Express on the Monrad Street level crossing, about a mile south of the Palmerston IfTorth Railway station at 12.10 yesterday Mr Leonard Hutton, Palmerston North was seriously injured and the vehicle was almost completely wrecked. Mr Hutton received concussion and general lacerations, but his condition is reported as satisfactory.
