CLUB TOURNAMENTS PLAY AT POVERTY BAY Fifty-two players took part in Monday’s pairs tournament on the Poverty Bay Bowling Clubs green, the fixture being on a progressive basis and section play consisting of four games of 15 heads each. Results were as under. — A Section.—-Leads: Kay, Wilson, Foster. Aitken and Neilson, 3 wins; Campbell and Cousens, 2 wins; L. Gardner, Ballantyne, Wells. Bound and Kent. 1 win. Skips: F. Allen, Taylor, Ross, T. Gardner and Hartley, 3 wins; Ritchie, J. Robinson and Grant, 2 wins; McFarlane. .Ansell and Murphy. 1 win. B Section. —Leads: Pickering, 4 wins; Jackson. King and Roderick, 3 wins; Thornton. Dynstan, Rothwell, Fisher, and Wadhain, 2 wins; Watson, C. F. Hansen, F. T. Robinson, Nicholas and Sparkes, 1 win. Skips: Lee, Blackburn, Gilmer and Barnett, 3 wins; Mac Gibbon Bayliss, Strawbridge, Nalder, Thompson and Sell, 2 wins; Knox, M. Robinson, Hutchin and Hamilton, 1 win. In the final of the tournament. Pickering and Barnett were matched against Neilson and F. Allen, and won 4-3.

KAHUTIA PAIRS TOURNEY Both the Kahutia club greens had to be brought into play to cater for Monday's entries in a progressive pairs tournament arranged for holiday bowlers not otherwise engaged. The tournament was conducted in two sections, and in the A section S. Pierce won the leads’ aggregate,'while E. Esquilant and N. Neenan tied for the skips’ end, and Esquilant won in the play-off. In the B section. R. Clarke was successful, and a play-off between W. Wilkie and S. Franks for the skips’ prize was won by Franks.
