BOWLS CHAMPIONS
CENTRE TITLES SOUGHT GISBORNE-EAST COAST Champions of the district clubs in the area between Tokomaru Bay and Wairoa are to meet on the Kahutia green, Gisborne, on Saturday in the contests to decide the season’s supremacy in the respective divisions of the Gisborne-East Coast Bowling Centre. Play is to commence at 8.45 a.m. and. will continue throughout the day in a series expected to be marked by a high standard of play. Mr. C. C. Somervell has been appointed as umpire. The draw in the respective divisions is: Senior Singles.—First Round: Tolaga Bay v. Tokomaru Bay; Kahutia v. Gisborne; Wairoa v. Te Karaka; Poverty Bay., a bye. Intermediate Singles.—First Round: Te Karaka v. Poverty Bay; Tolaga Bay v. Tokomaru Bay; Gisborne v. Kahutia.
Junior Singles.—First Round: Te Ka-)-aka v. Kahutia; Poverty Bay v. Tolaga ■Bay; Gisborne, a bye.
