WORLD RANK JOB
The United Press says it is learned on high authority that Mr. John McCloy. who was assistant United States Secretary of War from 1941 to 1945, has agreed to accept the presidency of the World Bank, and that his formal election is due to occur within a few days. The New York Times says many prominent men have been considered for the position, but those approached have refused, most of them apparently fearing that the bank’s present structure would make operations difficult.
